Who is Takeshi Saji?

Takeshi Saji (佐治武士) is the third-generation smith of Saji Uchihamono (株式会社佐治打刃物), the Echizen forging house founded in 1916. He works in the forged-blade tradition of Echizen, a knife-making region with roughly 700 years of history.

He is listed in Japan's national Traditional Craftsperson register (伝統工芸士) under the registry-verbatim name 佐治武士. At Knives & Stones we carry a wide range of his work.
