He is based in Echizen at Takefu Knife Village, where he founded the workshop Kutsurogi in 2021.

Yauji is based in Echizen, Fukui, where he is a member and representative of Kutsurogi (寬 -Kutsurogi-) within the Takefu Knife Village community. He became independent and established Kutsurogi in April 2021.

In November 2024 he opened a dedicated independent workshop inside Takefu Knife Village and installed an original belt hammer designed to reduce energy loss. A Takefu Knife Village organisation document current as of 21 May 2025 lists him among its directors.
