Kasumi (霞研ぎ) is the finish on a clad blade where the hard steel core and the softer jacket around it come up as two different tones. The Sakai Uchihamono Traditional Craftsmen's Association (堺打刃物伝統工芸士会) lists kasumi as Oda's recognized specialty technique, and it is the kasumi work we saw from him.
