Who is Yukinori Oda?

Yukinori Oda (小田幸徳) is a retired Sakai sharpener (研師). In Sakai, forging a knife and sharpening it are two jobs held by two different people, and Oda sat on the sharpening side of that division of labour. He worked in-house, sharpening inside Sakai Takayuki's factory rather than taking blades out to a shop of his own. He is no longer active: he retired, came back out and worked again, and is now retired for good.
