네. 야마츠카 미츠오는 현재도 활발히 연마 작업을 이어가고 있습니다. 그는 여전히 연마 작업장에 서서 기술을 전수하고 있으며, 두 아들 역시 연마사로서 그 뒤를 잇고 있습니다.

2025년에는 나이프 연마 시연자로 활동했으며, 전통 공예사 인증 시험 위원(試験委員)으로도 위촉되어 활동 중입니다.
